About JNCTP

JNCTP exists to support and promote playwork education, training and qualifications. Established in 1975, JNCTP is a democratic, membership organisation. Membership is open to both organisations and individuals who support the charitable aims of the organisation including Local Authorities, Early Years Development and Childcare Partneships/SureStart, Children's Trusts, training agencies, colleges, universities, voluntary and private play organisations; trainers, employers, play development workers, playworkers, and volunteers.
Both members and none members come together to share good practice and debate current issues in Playwork and Playwork education and training through conferences and study days.

JNCTP aims

  • Contribute to the establishment of Playwork as a recognised profession.

  • Raise the quality of Playwork education and training
  • To provide a network of communication for all concerned with training for Playwork
  • To promote a system for peer led endorsement of Playwork education and training and qualifications
  • Actively support the Playwork training sector

As a member of the JNCTP you will have the opportunity to contribute to debate at a national level which will influence future development of Playwork education and training .

JNCTP has representation on a number of bodies, with the aim of influencing the direction of playwork education and training in accordance with the views of its members.

As an independent membership organisation we are mainly funded through membership fees.
